Hello from the heart of Italy! Is there anywhere better to enjoy the Dolce Vita than in Tuscany?

A landscape of cypress avenues and blazing sunshine: Winemakers are drawn to the region to benefit from a continental and mediterranean climate on 60,000 hectares of land. Almost half of Tuscan wines have a DOC- and DOCG-status.

Tuscany has a long history of wine culture. Vines were already planted on the hillsides in Etruscan and Roman times. Monks continued to cultivate the vines. Divinity and wine have always been closely connected, which is why Tuscan wines are still highly respected today.

The winemaker Dario di Pasqui calls the Montecucco area his home. Here, the exquisite wines of the Trottolo winery are produced on 10 hectares.

The name of the winery comes from an Italian toast in the regional dialect. Trottolo definitely provides a good toast, but as the smallest winery in the area, "quality over quantity" is the motto! The production quantities are limited but result in wines with a guaranteed WOW-factor.

Dario spent most of his time in the vineyards as a child. In 2001, he took over land from his parents, where he raised a project that resulted in what we know as the winery Trottolo today. To this point, he owns a total of 40 hectares, mostly grain fields.

He focuses solely on red wine. The autochthonous Sangiovese grape variety, from which the "Montecucco" wine is also made, is predominantly cultivated in the region.

Dario tackles his everyday tasks as a producer with innovative solutions and experience. As a winegrower, he always endeavors to adapt to the conditions of nature. In return, his vineyards reward him with wines of outstanding, brilliant nuance.
