Falezze di Luca Anselmi

Veneto is a wine paradise par excellence. The total production of wine in this part of Italy is already almost 1 billion liters per year on 80,000 hectares of vineyards, which are divided among seven provinces. One of these northern Italian provinces is Verona, to which the Valpolicella region also belongs.
Valpolicella stretches north of Verona and east of Lake Garda. It is not only known as an art center. Above all, Valpolicella is also considered a renowned wine-growing region. Viticulture in Valpolicella is particularly favored climatically by the Lessinian Mountains and mild weather. The calcareous or clayey soils are also very suitable for cultivation. Veneto is at the top of the regions in Italy with the most productive production of DOC wines.
Particularly representative of Valpolicella's vinicultural area is the red wine "Amarone," produced by the Az. Agr. Falezze di Luca Anselmi winery, among others. The estate is only half an hour away from the big city of Verona.
At the Falezze winery, which is run by Luca Anselmi and has belonged to his family for three generations, you can still find real wine-making art.
Only a limited quantity of wines, after Luca's assessment, is bottled. Locally you will find hazelnut and oak forests and, of course, extensive vineyards, which are the ideal environment for Luca Anselmi to produce wine.
Anselmi uses traditional cultivation methods, such as the "Veronese pergola system," which is commonly used in Valpolicella. This system has proven to be very resistant to climatic changes.
For Luca Anselmi, environmental protection and sustainability are paramount. He is passionate about agricultural science, molecular biology, and nutritional science.
The result is grapes of high quality that provide the wine with perfect salinity and a harmonious balance with tannins. In addition to wine, the estate also produces olive oil.
At Falezze, craftsmanship and art play in harmony: Luca Anselmi is dedicated to the wine, his wife Sofia Kherkeladze, and his father-in-law Niko Kherkeladze design the labels of the bottles. At Falezze, a family business has truly been established.
Only recently, Falezze's wine has been certified organic.
