The Roero Riserva fulfils the highest expectations: In the glass, it shines in an intense straw yellow, while the nose is spoilt with aromas of citrus fruits, white pepper, herbs and a delicate hint of dried apricots. On the palate it shows a vibrant acidity and rich mineral notes. All in one its a elegant, full-bodied, and deeply layered wine, that pairs well with fish dishes.
Roero Arneis
The Roero Arneis Riserva comes from a distinctive vineyard planted in 1990, situated in an area traditionally dedicated to Nebbiolo, at an elevation of 350 metres above sea level. The yield is around 80 quintals per hectare – already a level aimed squarely at quality.
Harvest takes place in mid-September, exclusively by hand, using 20-kilogram crates to preserve the integrity of the grapes. In the cellar, the fruit is gently destemmed and pressed, with the must resting for 12 hours under a nitrogen blanket to prevent unwanted oxidation.
It is then transferred to French oak barrels, where it undergoes a slow fermentation and maturation for a minimum of 12 to 14 months. Following its time in wood, the Roero Arneis Riserva spends a further four years maturing in bottle – an exceptional ageing process that bestows depth, elegance, and a complex aromatic profile before it is finally unveiled to lovers of great white wines.
